⚡Miramare⚡

A majestic castle nestled beneath the white cliffs lining the southern coast, Miramare offers a taste of opulent paradise to all that call the castle home. Built of a durable limestone that can withstand the hot summer sun and the salty seaside air, the castle features enough room to house multiple families within its fortress-like walls. Additionally, residents and guests alike will find a library, multiple dining halls, a grand ball room, astrology chambers nestled within the tallest turrets and a wine cellar well stocked by the castle’s own vineyards.

The surrounding grounds contain multiple gardens, the most remarkable of which is the sunken garden which leads out onto a promenade lining the coast. A small break wall forms a wharf to protect the garden in times of inclement weather. Further out the castle grounds spread over modest farmland that supplies Miramare with all it needs to fulfill daily needs as well as the remains of what was once a magnificent vineyard.

You see, there hasn’t been much of anyone to tend to the vines in recent memory. The castle hamlet still thrives, just beyond the thicket that protects it from intruders. Fisherman still ply the surrounding seas and moor along the break walls. But there hasn’t been anyone to call the castle proper home in a very long time. Not anyone living at least.

The very strange thing about Miramare is the way it still seems to run like clockwork since time immemorial. Villagers rarely ventured beyond the front gates but those that linger around the garden or just within sight from the woods at dusk report lights from within, moving from room to room. And smoke wafting up from around the place where the kitchen should be. No one came or went for a very long time until King Arthur saw fit to grant to castle to a new lord from among the otherwordlers, in hopes of restoring it to its former glory.

Only then was the mystery uncovered. What proved to be the first of many. The castle, so long considered abandoned, remained home to a full cadre servants and caretakers. Cooks and cleaning staff. Stable boys and gardeners. And on the day when the newly appointed Lord of Miramare first arrived to turn the key and open the door on the long lost property, a butler standing there, a tall, thin wisp of a man -- and ghostly transparent -- to greet him and welcome him home.
